The first of our biweekly cake stalls at the student cinema was very interesting indeed, not least for the debut attempt at cupcakes. However, despite the weak turnout – we weren’t expecting too much from Wuthering Heights anyway – there were promising signs. We now know people want crisps as well as chocolate and sweets. And the cakes weren’t entirely inedible!
Cold but fun day in Manchester this weekend as we raided the city with buckets, collecting donations in the street. We made over £40, not bad for a day’s work but still not a sizeable dent in our target. Worth the trip though and we met some great people, many of whom seemed genuinely very interested in the aims of Practical Action.
Seems like Mr. Branson sorted his act out and got our sponsor page back online again.
Check it out at here.
Also, check out this video from Practical Action detailing one of their projects. It gives a great idea as to what they are about as an organisation and you should be able to see why we are so keen on supporting them;
I just found out that the site we are using to collect donations is down for maintenance until tomorrow morning.
Right after I spammed our blog on facebook as well, so it looks like its coming again tomorrow. Sorry to anyone who actually intended to sponsor us; just check back tomorrow…

Welcome to the official opening of Tom and Jack’s Kilimanjaro blog.
Please take the time to see what we are doing this September in aid of Practical Action, and maybe even visit our Sponsor Page!
Please like us on facebook (see below)
Well, here goes.
I think everything is pretty much ready to go “live” and start spamming this address wherever we can!
All that’s left is a little proofreading but I’m sure any mistakes will be fixed as we find them. Feel free to comment wherever, ask questions etc.
Getting closer to finishing. About and How Can You Help pages are pretty much up and running now.
Right, welcome to Tom and Jack’s blog.Its a bit bare-boned at the moment, but I’m hoping to flesh it out nicely in the next few days and then we can hopefully link up a twitter account and get some photos up (this is my first time using WordPress for blogging so I’m learning on my feet here!). So far only the Event page has been completed but look for much more info and links to our yet-to-be-established fundraising page!
